The Smithville Primary Elementary would like to welcome you back for the 2013-2014 school year.  We are eager to provide quality education that will be exciting and engaging.

Smithville Primary serves a community of approximately 533 students Kindergarten through 2nd grade.  Our staff is committed to working in partnership with staff, students, parents and the community. We will provide a safe nurturing environment that challenges our students to become the leaders of tomorrow.

It is our purpose to:

·         Support each student with engaging learning opportunities;

·         Partner with families through communication and opportunities for active involvement;

·         Maintain a dedicated, passionate staff committed to providing the best education possible.

News from the Primary
King Tut Family Field Trip
Second grade just completed their Egyptian Art Unit.  Union Station opened their new exhibit, The Discovery of King Tut.  

Union Station has offered Smithville Primary families special discount ticket prices for May 10, 2014.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.  Mrs. Haddock will be at Union Station at 10:00 a.m., but your tickets will be valid the entire day.  

All tickets must be ordered/purchased by April 25th.
 Payment must be made by check only and payable to SMITHVILLE PRIMARY.  Put King Tut in the memo.  Tickets are expected to be distributed by May 5th.  Please email Mrs. Haddock with any questions:

Summer Journey June 2 - July 3
Once again, our school district will offer all students, free of charge, an exciting Summer School program. Our summer program will be fun for kids. Yet, our summer school program also provides an opportunity for students to experience over 60 hours of advanced academic preparation for the year ahead as well as to review and apply previously learned skills and knowledge. The Smithville School District Summer School Program goals are comprised of academic courses with hands-on instruction centered in reading, language arts, math, social studies and science.

Camp Invention
In partnership with the National Inventors Hall of Fame, Smithville School District is pleased to offer the nationally-acclaimed Camp Invention program to children entering grades one through six at the Upper Elementary from 7/28-8/1 from 9:00 - 3:30pm.  It’s an exciting, weeklong summer adventure in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) that’s all about big ideas. Children will work together to seek innovative solutions to real-world problems and sharpen critical 21st century learning skills as they rotate through four modules that reinvent summer fun.

It All Counts
ItAllCounts is an online shopping platform that enables members to make purchases through local and national retailers and contribue a percentage of those purchases to their school/district, alumni association, church or other non-profit organization and their own personal account.  
Shop - Once registered, members can begin contributing immediately...just by logging on to before they begin shopping!  Thanks to the generous contributions of our participating retailers, shoppers pay the same prices they would outside of the ItAllCounts program.  As an added benefit, ItAllCounts offers members exclusive offers and discounts and an easy to use search feature so they can easily find the products and services they need at best value.
Save/Give - Everytime a purchase is made within the ItAllCounts network, a percentage is automatically deposited into the member's personal account and into his or her school/district, alumni association, church or other non-profit organization account.  At anytime, members are able to check their own contribution history as well as total contributions made to their non-profit organization.
